Abacus Plumbing Company, a leading residential and commercial plumbing company in the Houston area, has chosen “The Rose Houston” as the recipient of its October “Count on Us To Care” Program. The Rose International will receive a donation of $500 to continue its support of those stricken with breast cancer.
The Rose, www.the-rose.org, provides mammography screenings, diagnosis, and care to women regardless of their ability to pay. Last year, The Rose provided 33,784 screening and diagnostic procedures for those able to pay, 19,369 screening and diagnostic procedures at no charge to low income, uninsured women, and 8,857 free patient navigation services to patients without insurance. According to the American Cancer Society Guidelines, early detection through self-assessment and mammography screenings are essential to breast cancer survival. “The Rose represents an opportunity for hope for patients and their entire families. We’re proud to support them in their effort to help those dealing with cancer,” commented Alan O’Neill, president of Abacus Plumbing.
Abacus donated through its Count on Us to Care Program, which was started to provide support to the Houston community. The program was named after the Abacus brand promise of “You Can Count on Us”, which describes the Abacus commitment to offering reliability, professionalism, and integrity in their plumbing business. O’Neill added, “We strongly support The Rose’s mission to allow women access to quality, affordable healthcare throughout our community.”
