Abacus Plumbing Assists the MD Anderson Cancer Center

Houston, TX – June 17, 2011 – Abacus Plumbing Company, a leading residential and commercial plumbing company in the Houston area, has made the MD Anderson Cancer Center ( http://www.mdanderson.org/ ) in Houston the recipient of its Count on Us To Care Program. The MD Anderson Cancer Center will receive a donation of $500.

The MD Anderson Cancer Center is a comprehensive cancer center dedicated to the mission of eliminating cancer from Texas, the nation and, ultimately, the world. Through education, patient care, and research, the MD Anderson Cancer Center strives to be the premier leader in cancer programs and treatment.

“Undoubtedly, everyone has been touched by cancer within their lives in some manner” stated Alan O’Neill, president of Abacus Plumbing. “The MD Anderson Cancer Center offers education, support, and treatment to individuals diagnosed with cancer,” he said. “Not only does the MD Anderson Cancer Center strive to provide outstanding, comprehensive care to the insured community, but also to those who are uninsured or financially unable to receive care and treatment during their time of need.”

Abacus donated through its Count on Us to Care Program, which was started to provide support to the Houston community. The program was named after the Abacus brand promise of “You Can Count on Us”, which describes the Abacus commitment to offering reliability, professionalism, and integrity in their plumbing business. “We’re hopeful our contribution can assist the MD Anderson Cancer Center in continuing to offer its much-needed cancer research, education, and treatment programs,” added O’Neill.
